Better Lives with Care.Wallet: Cardiovascular Disease in Vietnam

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is ranked as the leading cause of death in Vietnam. The World Health Organization reports that it is in fact the number one cause of death globally, representing 31% of all deaths. In Viet Nam, CVDs were responsible for 31% of total deaths in 2016 — the equivalent to more than 170, 000 people.

The most common causes of CVD morbidity and mortality are ischemic heart disease (IHD), stroke, and congestive heart failure (CHF).
